Locally grown Basil, Tomatoes,
Mushrooms and More…
We are Andrew, Heather, Avia, Elliot, Joanna and Elias Augustyn owners of Canopy Gardens.
A second generation run family farm that has been growing amazing produce since 1995!
What is local?
The Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 defines locally grown as “being transported less than 400 miles, or from within the state in which it is produced”. Unfortunately, the act still allows retailers to use their own definition and sometimes it means their “Locally Grown Produce” can be grown as far as 1000 miles away, some even define Canadian produce as local.
Here at Canopy Gardens when we say local we mean it. Our produce is grown in Wisconsin and sold in Wisconsin. The furthest location that we sell to is 166 miles away and most locations are within 65 miles.
